City Guide: Paris
Terres de Café
This hidden coffeehouse, neighbors with a museum-like patisserie, is where to caf up near the Pompidou Centre.
In a sliver of a shop with a half dozen seats inside (and a few on the terrace), the aroma of exotic coffees waft to the sidewalk where passers-by are practically licking the windows of the Pain de Sucre patisserie next door. As only a few pastries are on hand at the cafe, they don’t mind if you enjoy a croissant from next door with your coffee on site. With four additional locations (40 rue des Blancs Manteaux, 14 rue Rambuteau,13 rue d’Aligre, 33 rue des Batignolles and 67 avenue de la Bourdonnais) you will find a way to arrive one way or another, but put this location at the top of the list given the proximity to stellar sweets.
