City Guide: Rome
Pizzarium
Pizzarium should be the first stop in Rome for the traveling pizza lover.
Rome’s superstar baker Gabriele Bonci’s pizza al taglio or pizza-by-the-slice joint is conveniently located near the entrance to the Vatican Museums and Bonci himself has even earned the nickname ‘the Michelangelo of pizza’ thanks to his delicious, often imaginative, creations. Recently renovated to double in size, Pizzarium offers Bonci’s signature dough sprinkled with a dazzling range of toppings which is then cut into squares and sold by weight. The selection regularly changes to feature local, seasonal produce that are always of the highest quality. Don’t miss the pizza con patate (potato pizza) which is without a doubt the best in Rome.
