City Guide: Rome

Caffè Propaganda

Modern plates and good cocktails a stone's throw from the Colosseum.

Caffè Propaganda’s laid-back, Parisian-bistrot ambience provides the perfect respite after a hard-day sightseeing at the Colosseum, located just a stone’s throw away. The well-conceived, seasonally revolving menu usually features dishes such as red shrimp carpaccio, pan-fried salmon and pasta with mussels and asparagus, as well as a wide range of desserts and pastries (including a fabulously decadent chocolate fondant). Food here is served from midday until the early hours making it one of the few late-night dining options in the area. But what’s most unique is they are also one of the few restaurants in Rome with a bar area. So don’t miss the excellent cocktails which all agree are some of the best in the city.
