City Guide: Rome
Aroma
Colosseum views in Rome don't get better than this fine dining spot.
If there’s one image of Rome that would be imprinted in your memory for a lifetime, it would be the view from a table at Aroma. The contemporary elegant dining room on the top floor of the Palazzo Manfredi affords unparalleled views overlooking the Colosseum and stretching over the wonders of the ancient city. It is undoubtedly the most fabulous spot to have an upscale meal of top-chef proportions. Chef Giuseppe Di Iorio’s hand picked ingredients are showcased in his innovative menu with dishes such as gin-infused pork, lasagnette with quail and mushrooms, and a rich chocolate brownie with light-as-air lavender marshmallows. The prices are up there (150 euros tasting menu, 230 euros with wine pairing), but for such a truly unique meal and incredible vista–it is worth the extra pennies.
